Each finger sparks as she whirls into the wheel, flying clear to light a vacuum. Story without corners. I love the word "scumbles" and the image of hair as "a slumped lattice". Fortuitous or otherwise, it highlights the falling rhythm of each line. I love the opening of this poem, because it's so true, and also because it's funny. She will have two families.

It is a love poem that never mentions love directly, but a feeling of being in love infuses the way the speaker sees, feels, and thinks about everything. Short Poems

The poem is interesting formally, with its opening and closing lines so strongly marked out, framing the panda as if on the window-sill. A sense of the universe comes from gazing up at those huge trees from the ground while in love and remembering the immensity of that experience of feeling and thinking.
